General information
The minimum required speed ranges (with the exception of the M + S profiles) and carrying capacities
to be used for tires are reported in the vehicle documents (vehicle registration certificate).
Furthermore, only one tire type on the same axle is permitted. When using different types of tires on
front and rear axle, it should be according to the notes of the vehicle and / or tire manufacturer's
instructions.
The suspension and brake components shall comply with the exception of retrofit measures applied in
the appropriate edition, as original equipment. The admissibility of further changes must be assessed
separately.
The standard spare wheel must not be used for longer distance than necessary, always at moderate
speed and using the standard equipment. On vehicles with all-wheel drive, only one spare tire with the
same size and the same rolling circumference of original tire size may be used.
The users of the wheels must be informed that the tire pressure prescribed by the tire manufacturer
must be observed.
Special conditions and notes
A13 Only fine-linked snow chains may be used at the front axle.
A14 Only adhesive weights may be affixed to the exterior of the rim below the bead seat for
balancing the special wheels.
A18 Only tubeless tyres and metal screw-on valves mounted from outside and in broad conformity
with the DIN, E.T.R.T.O or "Tire and Rim" standard are permissible.
A33 Only fine-linked snow chains, which come to an overall thickness of not more than 12 mm
(including chain joint), may be used at the front axle.
A58 Wheel/tyre combination(s) is (are) not permissible on vehicles with all-wheel drive.
A90 It is permitted only the use of snow chains with thickness not higher than 9mm, mounted
according to snow chains manufacturer’s instruction.
B03 The special wheels are not permissible on vehicles which are equipped exclusively with larger
and/or wider standard wheels (with the exception of rims for mud and snow tyres).
B83 The special wheels are only permissible on vehicle models which are equipped with front axle
brake discs by 283x26mm.
Car The wheel/tyre combination is permissible for vehicle models of the Avant, Caravan, estate-
car and/or touring variants.
Cbo The wheel/tyre combination is permissible for vehicle models of the Cabriolet, Roadster
variants.

ECE The use of this wheel / tire combination is permissible only if these tires are already registered
as standard equipment in the vehicle documents or released by the vehicle manufacturer, see extract
from the EC type-approval of the vehicle (EC certificate of conformity). The load index, speed symbol,
the M + S designation, the tire manufacturer and the advices/recommendations reported in
documentation of the vehicle manufacturer must be respected when using this tire size
Flh The wheel/tyre combination is permissible for hatchback vehicle models, both with 3 and 5
doors.
KMV Only refers to vehicle variants with standard plastic extensions and/or mud-guard extensions.
KOV Only refers to vehicle variants without standard plastic extensions and/or mud-guard
extensions.
M+S This tyre size is only permissible as mud and snow tyres..
O01 The special wheel is not permissible for vehicle models with brake disk diameter 302mm at
Axle 1.
S01 For fastening the special wheels only original equipment fixing element no. S01 (see page 1)
can be used.
S02 For fastening the special wheels only original equipment fixing element no. S02 (see page 1)
can be used.
Y84 The special wheels are permissible only on 3-door vehicle models.
Y85 The special wheels are permissible only on 5-door vehicle models.
