Restrictions
10B) Apart from tires with an M + S tread, the required minimum speed ranges for the tires to be used, taking
load indexes into consideration, can be found in the vehicle documentation, unless deviations have been
defined in the scope of application.
11H) If the standard spare wheel is used, the car should be driven at moderate speed and for no longer than
necessary. The wheel must be fitted with standard fastening elements. When the spare wheel is used on
four-wheel-drive vehicles, care should be taken to use only tires with identically sized rolling
circumference.
11N) The brake and steering systems and the suspension, except for custom suspension springs, must be
standard, unless governed by other requirements. For custom suspension springs, a national type
approval or a component type approval is necessary; there must be no technical objections to the use of
the wheel/tire combination. If the suspension is modified at the time the custom wheels are fitted, this
modification and its effect on the fitting of custom wheels must be separately evaluated.
12K) The use of snow chains is only permitted if the latter have been approved by the vehicle manufacturer for
this wheel/tire combination (cf. operating instructions).
51A) The inflation pressure specified by the vehicle manufacturer (see operating instructions or tire inflation
pressure indicated on the vehicle) or tire manufacturer must be observed. According to the manufacturer,
tires with run-flat properties may only be used in combination with a tire inflation monitoring system.
51G) This wheel/tire combination may only be used if this tire has already been entered as the standard in
vehicle documents or has been approved by the vehicle manufacturer, see excerpts from EC vehicle
approval (EC certificate of compliance). The load index, speed symbol, M+ S identification, the tire makes
entered in the vehicle documentation and the remarks and recommendations of the vehicle manufacturer
must be observed when this tire size is used.
711) The wheels may be balanced on the inner side of the rim only with adhesive weights.
714) The wheels may only be balanced on the outer side of the rim by positioning adhesive weights below the
drop center.
721) The only valves permissible are rubber valves or threaded metal valves with union nuts from the outside
which correspond in all critical points to the standards (DIN, E.T.R.T.O or Tire and Rim) and for which a
rated valve-hole diameter of 11.3 mm is suitable. The valve may not project over the rim edge.
73C) Only tubeless tires may be used.
74D) Only the standard wheel-fastening elements may be used.
76V) The use of this tire size and offset is only permitted if used as standard.
